CAPBA CHINESE NEW YEAR DINNER 2014
On Friday, February 7th of 2014, Canada Asia Pacific Business Association (CAPBA) hosted a Chinese New Year dinner at Shiang Garden Restaurant in Richmond. Over 300 guests joined our fantastic dinner which began at 7:00 PM. VIP members that joined include the Speaker of the Legislative Assembly of British Columbia – Linda Reid, British Columbia Minister for International Trade and Minister responsible for the Asia Pacific Strategy and Multiculturalism – Teresa Wat, Mayor of the City of Richmond – Malcolm Brodie and his wife Christine Brodie, and the Councillor of the City of Richmond – Bill McNulty.
The New Years Dinner began with the famous Chinese Lion Dance led by Master Paul Tam. Later on, amazing singers created a beautiful performance to entertain the guests featuring songs such as Treasure and Gentlemen. These artists include Betty Tse, Angela Leung, Jeremy Chiu, and the CAPBA AE team.
For the festive welcoming of the prosperous New Years, many Red Pockets were handed out to the dinner guests by the God of Fortune. The Chinese New Year’s dinner also had many prize giveaways.
Our youths at CAPBA worked together in planning this amazing event to gain experience as a team and celebrate such a festive season. This annual event hosted by CAPBA and led by its President Elsa Wong to celebrate the New Years ended with great success and we hope that the outcome next Chinese New Years would be just as successful.
