2014 Senior Luncheon – Dragon Boat Festival
On the 29th of May 2014, Canada Asia Pacific Business Association held their annual Dragon Boat Festival Luncheon in which over 100 seniors attended. This event is held in Richmond’s Steveston Community Center where CAPBA prepared a bountiful luncheon as well as entertainment for these seniors. CAPBA also used this opportunity to teach a group of youths how to show love and care for their elders and to provide our youths a chance to learn from these seniors as well as being responsible for them.
CAPBA has been established for 21 years. In 2008, the Prime Time Club was created where seniors of sixty five and over will be provided with numerous charity events and activities to show them appreciation for what they have done and given throughout their lives.
For the past six Dragon Boat Luncheons, CAPBA has been praised by the community on what they have done for the seniors. Community leaders as well as representatives from all three level of governments frequently attend this event to show their support and appreciation of what CAPBA is doing for the seniors and community. On this very day, City Councillor Mr. Bill McNulty and Former City Councilor Mr. Kiichi Kumagai will be present to celebrate such a meaningful festival with the participants. Performers like Ms Angela Leung, Jeremy Chiu, and Jimmy Yau are invited to ensure it will be a joyful and entertaining afternoon.
CAPBA will continue to uphold its passion to give back to the community, to promote economic growth and business trades, and to care for the unfortunate in not only our community but the Asia Pacific Region as well.
